Major Train Accident in Maharashtra: 11 Dead, 40 Injured

Jalgaon, Maharashtra (22 January 2025): In a tragic incident, a significant train accident occurred in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. Following rumors of a fire, panic-stricken passengers of the Pushpak Express jumped off the train, only to be run over by the oncoming Karnataka Express on a parallel track.

Jalgaon SP Maheshwar Reddy confirmed that, according to initial reports, 11 people have lost their lives. The Karnataka Express ran over the passengers who had jumped from the Pushpak Express after hearing the rumors of a fire outbreak.

Approximately 40 individuals were injured in this incident and have been admitted to a local hospital for treatment. The accident took place on Wednesday at the Paranda Railway Station in Jalgaon, Maharashtra. Panic ensued when passengers of the Pushpak Express heard about a possible fire, prompting them to jump off the train, only to be struck by the Karnataka Express on a different track.

Eyewitnesses reported that passengers jumped from the moving Pushpak Express after hearing the fire rumors. Unfortunately, many were run over by the Karnataka Express arriving on the adjacent track. The Karnataka Express was traveling from Bengaluru to New Delhi, while the Pushpak Express was en route from Mumbai to Lucknow.

This tragic incident highlights the dangers of misinformation and panic among passengers. Railway authorities are investigating the cause of the accident and ensuring that injured passengers receive appropriate medical care.
