Bhubaneswar, 22 September 2026: A story collection titled ‘Amareshara
Premikamane’ (Amaresh’s Lovers) by noted writer and senior journalist Amaresh
Biswal, and a poetry book ‘Jibana Chhanda’ (Rhythm of Life) by poet Sujata
Mahanti, were unveiled at a literary event held at the Buddha Mandir
premises in Bhubaneswar.
The programme was organised by Madhulita Prakashani
and presided over by poet Nirakar Das. Renowned storyteller, children’s
writer and columnist Das Benhur attended the event as the chief guest.
Bhograi MLA, senior journalist and writer Gautam Buddha Das was the
chief speaker, while Doordarshan news reader and writer Kalpana Mishra
attended as a guest.
Speaking on Amaresh Biswal’s stories, the participants
observed that his narratives present love in a distinctive setting and elevate
ordinary experiences through an engaging literary style. Das Benhur said
Biswal’s stories portray love at a different level, while Gautam Buddha Das
highlighted various aspects of the author’s storytelling.
The book was also reviewed by noted economist and poet Manoranjan
Sadangi. He said the stories are concise but their narrative style is
attractive enough to hold the reader’s attention. He also referred to the
distinctive treatment of love in Biswal’s writing.
The poetry collection ‘Jibana Chhanda’ was also
discussed during the programme. Speakers said Mahanti’s poems draw inspiration
from incidents and experiences surrounding everyday life and present them at a
deeper level. They expressed the view that the poems would appeal to general
readers while offering scope for reflection.
The event also featured discussions on the contribution of Madhulita magazine and the efforts of its editor Madhulita Parida. Senior journalists, writers, literary personalities and other distinguished guests were present at the programme.
