Bureau, October 4, 2019: Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has created a new record by taking 200 wickets in Test cricket during the ongoing Test match in Visakhapatnam. On the third day of the first Test against South Africa, Jadeja achieved this milestone on Friday by dismissing Dean Elgar. The left-arm bowler reached this feat in his 44th Test match, making him the fastest left-arm bowler to achieve this record. He surpassed the previous record held by Sri Lanka's Rangana Herath, who achieved it in 47 matches.
Prior to this, Ravindra Jadeja had taken 198 Test wickets. He dismissed Dean Piedt on the second day of the match and then took another wicket on the third day to reach this milestone.
