Bhubaneswar (January 22, 2025): A capacity-building program focusing on foreign trade, logistics, and export was held at Siksha 'O' Anusandhan (SOA). Experts discussed various opportunities available in the export sector. The program was sponsored by the All Odisha SC-ST Chamber of Commerce and Industries (OSCCI) and was organized in collaboration with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), and SOA.
SIDBI's Deputy General Manager, Mr. Pradyumna Kumar Chaudhary, highlighted how banks support and provide training to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in various sectors.
Mr. Amit Kumar, Joint Director of the Foreign Trade Department under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, emphasized the importance of development and technology in the export and import sectors. APEDA's Regional Head, Mr. S. K. Mandal, discussed the export opportunities for food and agricultural products in Odisha.
SOA's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Pradipta Kumar Nanda, in his welcome address, stressed the need for support to startups and MSMEs. OSCCI's Secretary General, Mr. Swastik Swain, pointed out the various opportunities in Odisha for the export of food products, fish, and millets.
The event was also attended by OSCCI Chairman Mr. Sadhu Chatteria, NABARD's Assistant General Manager Mr. Bijay Kumar Jamuda, World Trade Center's Assistant Director Ms. Nimeshika Natarajan, Dean of the Institute of Agricultural Sciences at SOA Professor Santosh Kumar Raut, and Dean of Student Welfare Professor Jyoti Ranjan Das, who all shared their insights.
