Bhadrak, August 6, 2025: A mob in Bhadrak district intercepted and vandalized a vehicle illegally transporting cattle, rescuing 11 cows near Balua Square, close to the Grama Panchayat police station. The incident occurred when locals, upon receiving information about the illegal transport, chased a Xylo vehicle carrying 12 cows from Anandpur to Bhadrak.
Tensions escalated as the crowd confronted individuals escorting the vehicle, leading to heated arguments. The mob subsequently stopped the vehicle at Balua Square and damaged it. The driver and helper fled the scene, leaving the cattle behind. The rescued cows were secured, but the incident created a charged atmosphere, prompting the deployment of Grama Panchayat police to maintain order.
Authorities are investigating the matter to identify those involved in the illegal cattle transport and to address the vandalism. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about illegal cattle trafficking in the region.
