Bhadrak District Reschedules School Timings Amid Prevailing Cold Wave Conditions

Bhadrak, January 8, 2026 — In response to the ongoing cold wave sweeping across Odisha, the Office of the Collector & District Magistrate, Bhadrak, has issued an official order rescheduling school timings for all classes from I to XII.

As per Office Order No. 456 dated January 8, 2026, schools across the district — including government, private, secondary, elementary, madrasas, and Sanskrit Tols — will now operate as Day Classes instead of the usual morning sessions. This change specifically applies to Saturdays during the 2nd week of January 2026 through the 2nd week of February 2026.

The decision aims to ensure the safety and well-being of students, who are particularly vulnerable to the early morning chill and dense fog typical during severe cold wave periods. Odisha has been experiencing a notable drop in minimum temperatures this winter, with several parts of the state recording single-digit readings, prompting authorities in various districts to implement protective measures for schoolchildren.
