Bhubaneswar, April 13, 2026: The first Odia novel “Cigarette” by Sangram Keshari Senapati was officially launched at the Buddha Temple in Bhubaneswar during the “Bahi Bisuba” literary event organized by Timepass Publication.
The book was unveiled in the presence of Sahitya Akademi award-winning poet Bansidhar Sadangi as the chief guest, along with publisher Saroj Bal.
The novel had earlier received recognition in Timepass Publication’s “Prathama” competition, where it was selected among 12 winning entries and awarded the Timepass Prathama Award. Based on a college love story, the book reflects contemporary youth emotions and relationships.
Apart from being a writer, Senapati is also the founding editor of Shubhapallaba and an active contributor to Odia Wikipedia, having authored over 3,600 articles. He has also participated in several national and international literary and Wikimedia events.
Notably, his debut English novel “The Year She Disappeared”, published by Shubhapallaba Publications, was launched last week and is available in both print and e-book formats on platforms like Amazon and Kindle.
Expressing his happiness, Senapati thanked the publisher and expressed hope that “Cigarette” would receive a positive response from readers. The book is currently available at Timepass Book Café as well as on Amazon India.
