Basudevpur, April 14, 2026: The 21st State-Level Bishuba Milana and Felicitation Ceremony was organised by Abasara Literary Magazine on Pana Sankranti aks Odia New Year at the campus of Atal Bihari College in Basudevpur.
The meeting was presided over by Prof. Biswaranjan Das. Eminent linguist and critic Dr. Natabar Satpathy attended as the chief guest, while Kalipada Panda joined as the chief speaker. Other distinguished guests included Rajendra Behera and Dr. Abhay Kumar Das.
The literary magazine, which has now entered its 35th year, honoured several personalities for their contributions to literature and culture. Abhay Kumar Das received the Abasara Saraswata Pratibha Samman, while Suranjan Patra, poet and editor of Nihar Kanya Sahitya Sansad was honoured with the Abasara Kabita Samman. The Abasara Yuva Pratibha Samman was presented to Kshirod Bihari Biswal, and Jaminikanta Padhi received the Banamali Barik Memorial Award.
During the first session, secretary Parthasarathi Barik introduced the guests, while Dhaneswar Rout delivered the vote of thanks.
In the afternoon, a state-level poetry session was held as part of Bishuba Milana 2026. Former principal of A.B. College Suryamani Satpathy, former principal of Tripti Women’s Higher Secondary School Snigdha Mohanty, and Kamalakanta Kar addressed the gathering. Teacher Gayadhar Das coordinated the poetry session.
Invited poets recited their original compositions, while children presented dance and music performances, adding colour and vibrancy to the celebration.
