Farewell Ceremony Held for Retired Teachers and Staff at Nilok High School


Bhadrak (2 January 2019): Today, a farewell ceremony was organized by Nilok High School in Banta Block to honor retired teachers and staff. The event saw the participation of teachers, former students, and various organizations.

Teachers Nirakar Behera, who served for over 35 years, and staff members Upendra Mishra and Dharanidhar Raut were honored during a modest ceremony on the school premises. The event, chaired by senior educator Kamalakanta Padhi, saw the attendance of Women and Child Development Minister Prafulla Samal.

Former students brought the retirees to the venue at 11 AM, followed by the arrival of the minister. Acting Headmaster Shovendra Majhi chaired the event, which began with floral tributes by students and a welcome dance. Teacher Parshuram Nayak introduced the guests, and Science Teacher Shashibhushan Kar from Kendua Pada High School moderated the event.

Former and current teachers of Nilok High School, along with other guests, attended the ceremony. Notable retired teachers present included Headmaster Narahari Barik, Gauranga Charan Mahanti, Bhaskar Chandra Senapati, Prabhakar Raut, Kripasindhu Panda, and former staff member Sridhar Biswal. Current teachers such as Sudhakar Panda, Sanatan Nayak, and others played key roles in organizing the event.

The retired teachers and staff were presented with certificates and floral tributes by teachers, guests, and former students. Following this, speeches were delivered by the chief guest, honored guests, and attending students.

Music was provided by village musician Jaladhara Jena, with students singing a Guru Vandana. Jagannath Dwivedi, a teacher from Panchayat High School and a former student, also participated with a Guru Vandana song.

Present at the event were Sarpanch Ashok Mahanti, committee member Kamalini Acharya, playwright and teacher Sudhanshu Mohan Sahu, and former students Harinarayan Mahanti, Ramesh Padhi, Anirudha Nayak, Ajesh Nayak, Debashish Nayak, Vijay Anand Das, Sangram Keshari Senapati, and others.
