Bhadrak (July 13, 2019): Sharing knowledge increases it. Odia youth Sangram Keshari Senapati has created a rare world record by writing at least one article daily on the open encyclopedia Wikipedia for two consecutive years.
Wikipedia, a free online encyclopedia, is available in 304 languages, including English. The information on Wikipedia is relevant and well-sourced, making it a preferred reference in many places. Articles on Wikipedia are available under CC-SA 3.0, allowing free access to anyone. Increasing the number of articles on Odia Wikipedia is essential.
Sangram, who has been active on Odia Wikipedia since 2014, decided in 2017 to write at least one article daily. He started writing during the #100wikidays challenge and continued through #1WikiYear and #2WikiYear, maintaining his streak despite various obstacles. Even during the 2017 riots in Bhadrak, with the internet shut down for two days, Sangram rode his motorcycle to Baleswar and wrote articles on his laptop when the internet was briefly available.
An engineer by profession, Sangram is also the founder and executive editor of the Odia e-magazine and web portal Shubhapallava, which now publishes the first Odia audio magazine on YouTube, enabling people to listen to stories instead of reading them. Shubhapallava will soon be available in English, Bengali, Hindi, and Sanskrit.
