Bureau (25 January 2020): A major earthquake with a magnitude of approximately 6.7 on the Richter scale struck eastern Turkey. Reports indicate that the earthquake has resulted in the death of 20 people, while over 200 others have been injured. Initial information suggests that hundreds of homes have been damaged. The epicenter of the earthquake is believed to be in the Elazig Province.
Rescue operations are ongoing in the affected areas, and the injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals. According to the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, two of the injured individuals are in critical condition.
