From Engineering to the Silver Screen: The Journey of Asit Pattnaik


Bureau: Asit Pattnaik, born in Jagatsinghpur district, completed his mechanical engineering degree in 2018 from the Government College of Engineering in Kalahandi. However, he soon found his true passion lay elsewhere. With a sudden but profound interest in acting, Asit embarked on a challenging yet rewarding journey into the world of cinema.

During his college days, Asit acted in a short video that garnered significant praise, sparking his interest in acting. Transitioning from engineering to acting was no easy feat, but Asit's dedication and perseverance paid off. His big break came when he was given opportunities to act in TV shows such as "Police Files" and "Akuha Katha," which aired on OTV. Asit attributes his success to his mentor, Saubhagya Prakash Patnaik, under whose guidance he also worked as an assistant director.

Continuing his journey, Asit starred in various programs on OTV and notable series like "Swatantra Adhyaya Nirbhaya" and "Asamaye Andhare," which aired on News World Odisha.

A major turning point in Asit's career came when renowned Odia filmmaker Pinu Nayak offered him a role in the upcoming Odia film "Indrajala." The film has now completed shooting and is awaiting release. Asit expresses his gratitude to Pinu Nayak for this opportunity and is determined to focus on character-driven performances in his future endeavors.


Throughout his acting journey, Asit has been continuously inspired and supported by his parents and his elder brother Amit Pattnaik. Their encouragement and blessings have been a cornerstone of his success.
