Bhubaneswar (18 January 2025): The Odisha government has entered into eight significant Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with the Government of Singapore. These collaborations are expected to play a crucial role in achieving the goal of a prosperous Odisha by 2036, according to Chief Minister Mohan Majhi.
The partnerships aim to attract substantial investments into Odisha, enhancing urban planning, port management, logistics, green energy, and skill development programs. The state is poised to become a growth engine for the country, with robust infrastructure attracting investors, said the Chief Minister.
Among the MOUs, the first is signed between the Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) and Singapore for the development of a new city near Bhubaneswar. Additionally, a pact with Singapore's Surbana Jurong focuses on urban planning for Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA).
The historic visit of Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam to Odisha highlights the significance of these agreements. Chief Minister Majhi emphasized that this visit marks a monumental occasion, heralding a new era of cooperation. He expressed confidence that Odisha will emerge as one of the top five states in the country in the coming days.
