Former MP Rabindra Jena Resigns from BJD

Balasore (11 March 2026): Former Member of Parliament Rabindra Kumar Jena has resigned from the Biju Janata Dal, bringing an end to his long association with the party.

Jena sent his resignation letter to party president Naveen Patnaik, stepping down from the party’s primary membership. In the letter, he stated that he had taken the decision due to personal reasons.

He also mentioned that his long political journey with the party would remain memorable and requested to be relieved from all party responsibilities with immediate effect.

Rabindra Jena had earlier served as the district president of the BJD in Balasore and was a prominent leader of the party in the region. Meanwhile, his wife currently serves as a BJD MLA from the Basta constituency.

Political circles are abuzz with speculation that Jena may join the Bharatiya Janata Party soon, possibly as early as tomorrow, though no official confirmation has been made yet.
