Desk (15 March 2026): The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a revision in the one-time annual FASTag pass fee for vehicles using national highways across India. The new rate will come into effect from April 1.
Currently, the annual one-time FASTag pass fee is ₹3,000. From April 1, the fee will increase to ₹3,075. The facility is available only for non-commercial private vehicles traveling on national highways.
The FASTag annual pass system was introduced on August 15 last year to simplify toll payments and promote digital transactions at toll plazas. Under this system, vehicles can travel through toll gates using a single annual payment.
With this pass, vehicles will be able to cross toll plazas up to 200 times in a year without paying additional toll charges each time. The pass will be valid across approximately 1,150 toll plazas on national highways across the country.
According to officials, around 5.6 million FASTag users are currently using the system in India, and public interest in the facility continues to grow as it helps reduce waiting time at toll plazas and ensures smoother highway travel.
